|  Actress Dominique Swain laughs on the ground after accidentally tripping over a cement bench while walking past photographers at the premiere of the film "The Virgin Suicides," Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at the Egyptian Theater in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles. Swain was unhurt and eventually went inside the theater.  Dominique about the Intern: "I was really excited because I didn't know very much about the fashion industry and I think that there is a great story to be told here." The Smokers is now complete. A screening for distributors was held on January 12, 2000 in Los Angeles. | "It was a great success, and we have received a large amount of interest from a number of distributors", says Producer and Actor Nicholas Loeb. We are also pleased to announce that the Santa Barbara International Film Festival has nominated The Smokers for the Independent Voice Award for Best North American Independent Feature Film. "We are very excited with the nomination and upcoming screening at the Santa Barbara Internationl Film Festival", says Producer Alex Hernandez.

 After Michael Lange - Director L'Intern - signed our guestbook I asked him this: Could you please tell Dominique about our site? Can you provide us some news about the Intern? I found some on IMDB, but it would be great if you could provide detailed info on intern. Michael Lange's reply: I don't speak with her that often, but the next time I do, I'll surely mention your site. "Intern" was at the Sundance Film Festival and we had great audience responses and completely packed houses. It was amazing. We're currently awaiting a distributor. There are several that are interested although I'm not at liberty to say which ones. The film turned out really great, very funny, outrageous, cynical and yet with a good heart. Dominique is sublime in the movie and adds a tremendous amount of the aforementioned "heart". I'm sure if properly promoted, the film will do fantastically well. With any luck it will be playing at a theatre near you sometime this summer or fall. Best regards, Michael Lange

Some dude sells an 4-set picture session with Dominique and two of her sisters. Don't buy the so called "signed" photo's. I saw several different Dominique Swain signatures. Director Christina Peters, Editor Elias Chalhub, Composer Lawrence Gingold,
and Producer Nicholas Loeb have been working diligently to finish the film.
They have all been pleased with the progress and are happy to be nearing completion.
Early reviews of the Director's Cut have been great.
"Everyone has liked what they have currenly seen, and there is a large interest in seeing
the finished product", says producer Loeb. | The rest of the IPC staff is preparing to enter The Smokers in several upcoming film festivals.
